job

i got a call last night about a job down in slc. they asked to have my resume sent to them and they'll let me know. we'll see what happens. i don't have my hopes up as this seems to be a recurring thing. i get asked a few things and then never hear from them again. maybe this time will be different, but who knows.

health advice

i actually do one of the things, i take the stairs whenever possible, and it helps that i live on the second floor of the apt complex! also, to get a "break" from staring at the comp screen, i walk with some ladies around the block (outside).

circuit city

so, we decided to just look around circuit city, after all they are closing. So the sales must be good. Well, on the camera accessories that we ended up buying, they were killer deals. we are hoping that the camera bodys go down in price too. then we could each have our own dslr. but i think they would have to cut prices by 40% to make it worth it. if they don't, we may buy one from ebay. steve likes the nikon d80 and d90 (they are virtually the same thing). so, we will see what happens.

did i make the right choice?

I don't know if I chose right by going into geology. Before, there were so many job opportunities and now everyone seems to want a masters or PhD. so, I've been trying in other fields, and nothing seems to be happening. there aren't even teaching jobs opened for sciences. i could get a certificate, but if there are no openings, that won't help much. i would really like to finally be settled down, start a family and buy a house. but it can't happen on a temp job.

what is it about keeping everything

but i guess its a good thing. i had some film that hasn't been developed yet, probably at least 3 years old, if not older. i'm getting them on a cd, so this weekend pictures will be posted.... also dark chocolate peanut m&m's are really good....

tuesday confessional

~ i usually don't make big purchases unless they are planned, but last night me and steve went to circut city (since they are going out of business) just to see what was there. we came out spending $700. on what you may ask?? well we had been wanting a good flash for our camera and then after christmas we wanted to get a new lens, 70-300 zoom. we got both. they were 30% off, which was a killer deal. so pretty much the price we paid for both is usually the price for the lens... and we feel guilty....

~ i had yesturday off from work, and had a ton of things to do. the only thing i got done was watching movies i tivo and took a shower.

~ i really didn't want to come to work today, but we need the money. i came in a 6am, bc, i didn't have work yesturday, so i need to do 4 10 hour days...

my grandma has joined facebook!!!! its crazy!!!!! well, she's got some funny pics from her anniversary party last year... i linked one of the pics from my facebook page if you wanna see it...

so, after the interview, i don't think i'll get the job. i don't appear tough enough to talk to country idaho farmers about telling them their road is not what they say it is. and i was too personal with answering the questions presented to me. but it was good expierence.

tuesday confessional

1. i grind my teeth when i sleep.... poor mer had to deal with it freshman year....

2. i wish my visiting teachers wouldn't complain so much when they come over. it makes me think they only come cause they have to not bc they want to.

3. i applied to work at a bank/credit union and i kinda hope they hire me!

4. i love chick flicks and sometimes cry at them. oh speaking of which everyone should go see Bride Wars! its so good!! and so funny, even steve enjoyed it! and mer, steve thinks that we are like the main characters, at the good parts not the bad....

5. i can watch movies over and over again. like three musketeers, lord of the rings (extended version), star wars, lilo and stitch (well that one i can quote the entire movie!) oh, dirty dancing too... amongst others.

thought of the day

so, on the radio this morning it said that people take a mental health day to recover from stresses of work. then the morning show people said that you need to look forward to something, and that will get you through the stress. so, i'm looking forward to going to arizona for dirt track racing!!! next month!!!!

government

So, i wanted to "voice" my complaints about the government. This is not about Obama, nor the people he's chosen to fill spots in government. this is about my job. i have been screwed in so many ways. first, the program they put me on to hire me expired when i graduated, i found this out within two months of graduation, but was told all along that oh, its all good, or take one class. i don't have the money to take anymore, and i don't need to accure more debt. so then i was told that i would be with a temp agency and that it would be just as if i was still employed with the government. yea, right. i only get paid for the hours i actually work, not the holidays nor early leave or sick leave or annual leave. great. then they said i didn't need to out process, which i think i did so i probably won't get paid the annual leave i did earn, which would be about $100. giver or take depending on taxes. don't get me wrong, i'm extremely greatful to even have a job, i just wish they wouldn't tell me lies.

So, Gaylene told me about a game on facebook, you try to steal pictures and get a complete collection. i beat the game, at least with the one collection and am now working on another.... that was fun!! now, i gotta get her to LIFE game, they made a computer version. its a lot of fun!!

tuesday confessional

1. i hate stupid people who don't know how to drive. i mean come on people we live in the mountains, it snows here. get off the cell and drive like you should when it's snowy.

2. i love the new shampoo i bought. i smell like a fruit salad. its the garine fruitis. or however that's spelled. hey, that's number 3.

3. i can't spell worth a lick. cept for the easy words, like clinopyroxene. go ahead, i dare ya to look it up and see if i spelled it right! ;-)

4. i can't believe i worry over the stupidest things sometimes. like i was stressing for two weeks, give or take, about my grades. if i didn't pass geochem i was going to have to take it again. i really didn't want to.

5. job hunting sucks. i've been looking for a permanet job since sept. nothing. i haven't heard back from the one interveiw with Univeristy of Utah.

6. i'm a "i'll try/eat anything as long as it doesn't look sick" but i married and "meat and patato" kind of guy. i love it when he goes away for work. i usually get one or two days of eating chinese food and he brings me back a stuffed animal. i do miss him when he's gone, but i get to eat the orential foods....

7. it's weird, i enjoy working out. we've been going to the gym like 5 times a week. maybe 4. and two days are doing strength training and the others are cardio.

8. for some reason i have to touch everything. when we go to the store, if something looks fuzzy soft, i gotta make sure it is. or the musical toys/ordaments... yes, i'm one of those...

9. i wear make up when i'm sick, so that others cannot tell if i'm really sick or not.... tehehehe....

10. sometimes, when its really slow at work, i do cross-stitch. i'm about halfway done with one i started last monday...
