tuesday confessional.....

this is taken, in part, from a friend's blog, so i thought i would give it a try....

1. i hate that i'm so trusting of people or niave, as to think that my dad really cared about me. huh, my mistake

2. sometimes i wish i wasn't teaching in primary (that's sunday school for kids 3-11) so that i could get to know the ladies in the church. most of the new kids that i teach i only know their parents as " this is zach's mom or truman's dad" its really sad and it doesn't help steve out at all, who is such the introvert that he doesn't really know any of the guys except for paul, whose gaylene's husband and only knows him cause he stands outside the primary room. and scott, who is our home teacher, the elder's quorm (a big bunch of guys) president and the dad of one of the kids we teach.

3. i get so crazy if my aptartment isn't clean, and i don't have any children to use as an excuse as to why its not clean. i always seem to act like its my grandmother coming over to inspect the cleaniness of my home.

4. i never thought that i would love to shop at walmart. i mean really shop, like clothes and shoes. i love this one outfit i bought, polyester shirt and skirt, the skirt is black and the shirt is red. oooh, mer, remember those blakc sparkly pants from freshmen year?? that's what made me think to get them, and the fact that work gave me a giftcard to wally world.

5. i seem to love a man in uniform. i really like it when steve comes home from guard and dang. cept the marines dress uniform is the best. even hubby agrees.

6. i don't think i'm to weird to have a rock garden, at least i can't kill it. oh, by the way, christina my poinsettia is still alive!!! i know right, i haven't killed it... YET!!! oh, and thanks for the addition to my rock garden, its grown from my apt to work!! i really like the quartz crystal.

7. i don't think i'm all that creative, that is until i get a christmas card from grandma hansOn (steve's grandmas have the same last name, but one is hanson and one is hansen. so we call them grandma e or grandma o) that said " your card was really cute" or when my artist friend kristi want's to figrue out how i did something... i'm still now gonna try to paint. maybe paint by numbers! or a rock map!!!

So, work is slow, and i mean frozen peanutbutter slow. ohh, even better, 0 Kalvin slow! ;-) (that's about -273 degrees C)

so, i got my cross-stitch with me and am working on it, since there's not much i can do and my supervisor left for the day. yucky. oh well. i only got like 3 more hours anyways.

oh, i gotta get those pictures up, woops, i spent all day, well after we got home from ogden, cleaning and doing laundry. still got like three loads to do and three loads to fold. i did finish a puzzle though and will start another once that one is modpodged and framed.

a nice week

so last friday i graduated, but grades aren't offical until jan 6. it was fun having family up and out to boise. my mom was so excited! and so was steve!! we got tons of pics, which i will post to the picasa site.

christmas was really nice too. i got a keyboard!! and a stand to put it on and some song books!! yea, now i don't have to "borrow" the ones at church before all the kids come in. and kyle and alex got me a huge christmas stitch!!!!

yea, no more tests!!

i took my last test yesturday. i think i did well on it. i'll find out once i get my grades..... other than that, i'm all set to graduate friday. my mom flew out today to SLC, grams, gramps, mom, dave, joan, kevin, kyle and alex are driving up tomorrow. and i'm only working a few hours today!! yea!!!

aww, my lovely husband

he's being so cryptic about what he's getting me for christmas. the other night he's like "have you been practicing your violin so santa will bring you a new one?" one of the christmas songs that was getting ready to start asked if the guy had been practicing the trumpet. then at church a guy did a panio solo and man, was he good. he elaorabted without having music written out. mer, kinda like that one spanish guy in our freshman ward. and me and steve were talking bout that and then he goes "well, maybe you can get good enough on the panio and violin to help our kids out when they need it." how can he just hink i'm not gonna try to figure out what he's up to? oh well, guess i only have to wait like two weeks. and a week after i graduate i'll know what i got.

speaking of which, my momma is flying out, yea!! steve told me not to "fight" with his momma. she's insisting on paying for everything that's dealing with my graduation party, but i told her it would be fine if me and steve bought the bread for chicken-salad sandwhich and a fruit platter. steve already bought some blue and orange cups, which when i told her she about bit my head off! she's all like " don't buy anthing more..." its all good really, but its just funny. she seems all excited bout this i think bc steve and kyle didn't really have a graduation party. steve sort of got married the weekend after his, and kyle started working and wasn't really worried bout having one. i don't care either, but she wants to throw one, so i'll let her!

so sed/strat is finished, tomorrow i will find out how i did and what my grade is. also for geochem, he gave us undergrad some extra credit if we wanted to do it. well, my part is done and handed in. i just had to do a 8x11 page in powerpoint and answer one question. that was easy enough. now i'm just reading over class notes and the book for the final. its not comprehensive, but like any science, the past is in the future... oh well.

i have been reading an awesome book when i do have free time, its called Mormon Scientist. i like it alot.

oh, and for those who know this artist, Greg Olsen was at costco here in boise signing autographs! yea! i bought myself a picture, not a print (they were only able to sell completed pictures) and he personalized it for me!! so i bought the one with the two girls in pink (i know mer) and they are sitting at a grand panio. barbie likes that one too, cause it reminds her of me! how sweet is she?!

i just gotta get four more gifts wrapped then i'm all done for christmas, well except for sneding out the ones that need to be sent, like to sisters in new york and friend who will be at her parents in washington. my christmas cards are going out tomorrow, steve wanted to have one sent to all the aunts and uncles. that's 15 right there. then we had the moms and grandmas and brothers and sisters. in all, i think i made 30 cards, not to metion that i still need more for friends that i want to send them too.... that will be tomorrow's project, espically since i only got class.

so, i think i passed the first interview phase. they will do a second one, if i get that then great! and then offer the position.

thanksgiving weekend

so me and steve took the nova down to ogden, it needed some tlc. well, about 300 dollars or so later, the nova got tlc! we put in a new radio and speakers, had new seats put in (they were bought before this trip) and then lots of little things done, like oil change, oxygen sensor replaced.

me and joan (mother in law) went shopping just about every day, from wed to sat. i think we got shopped out. we went to michaels, roberts, sears, lowes, seagle book, walmart (yes friday morning at 5 am). and most of those stores multiple times. it was crazy. i did get something for steve, but most i bought was for me. a really good book, oh i forgot to bring it with me to class so i could take it to work. nuts. but its called Mormon Scientist. its really good!!! yea for good books.

well, now i just got two weeks of classes and then the following week is graduation. i can't believe how fast its comming up. wow.

ok, so i just got back from seeing twilight, if you read the book you gotta see it!!! it's so good, and yea....

ugh

its offically thanksgiving break and i have two assignments for one class to do over the break. doesn't he get that its thanksgiving BREAK??? guess not. oh well, i did get one of them done already as it was given out tuesday. lots of math and excell, yikes. and the other one is ready and writing a paper on it. yuck.

i do get to have pumpkin cheesecake for thanksgiving desert!!! yea! that'll be nice. me and momma-in-law are going shopping the day after thanksgiving. we gotta get scrapbook stuff!! ;-) plus major sales.... i do have most of my christmas shopping/making done. i just need to wrap everything get two more things finished on one project and three more things finished on another project. most of my christmas this year was handmade. i am dealing with all the girls we have for christmas (two moms, 3 grandmas, 6 sisters (which includes the step, in-law, etc)) also my side of the fam does gifts for cousins and i got two girls for that. steve get's to buy for his brother and dad. my step-dad's gift is mixed with mom's. i do have to be a little discreat as my sisters read this too. so after christmas i'll describe some of the gifts. (also a friend is getting something handmade too)....

i made my list of what i want from steve this year. hehehehe. i put a puppy! he said no, we are still in an apt, once we get our own place that has a yard, we are getting a puppy. and i think i want a border terrier (cute little muts!!!)

so, both jobs i applied to friday replied back to me that they forward my resume/application up to the hiring dept. that means i passed the first test!!! woohoo!!!

today i also bought my cap and gown, it's getting closer, 32 days.

so today there were two more job openings. one here in boise and one down in slc. the one in slc was with the university of utah! that would be so cool!!!! :-)

kyle and alex are up here today. kyle's here to talk to a customer of his. so today after class we are all going to lunch. i might not go back to work later.....

so i've been working on christmas presents and now i need to get like 81 pictures together for another project! yikes! graduation announcements will be sent out either next week or the week after. they will be in the mail before thanksgiving. if you would like one, email your address, that is if i don't already know it. i gotta get like 100 printed!! its crazy. mom gave me the wedding invite list (45 people alone) and then i have steve's family. and then my friends. crazy i tell ya, just crazy.....

ok, so ya know how some if not all radio stations allow you to call in and request songs? well, yesterday i was really wanting to hear ticks. i've been wanting to hear it since i got back from field camp. i had about 4 or 5 ticks on me, never in me, but i wanted steve there to check for them. plus, one of them was crawling on my boob! just imagine if it was embedded. yuck. i would have had to have the guy there that was wilderness first aid trained get it out, unless another girl wasn't squeamish about it. thank goodness i felt something crawling and got it out and then smashed it with a hammer!! i like rock hammers!! ;-)

so steve had to fly out to indiana today, so i've been at work since 6am, but had to waste like 30 mins before that at walmart. i'm tired and cranky. good thing i don't have class today. but i do have to finish homework for my class tomorrow. i gotta type up a paper about geothermometers (i ain't telling ya what that means.... hehehe i can be evil sometimes)

good news

cept for the over hour waiting to see the doc, she said moles sometimes change throughout life, and mine didn't look serious. but to have a whole body check once a year by a doc (as well as my own monthly checks). one more thing to add to the other once a year check.

and i got the flu shot for the first time in my life. my arm still hurts. and i couldn't sleep on my side, ugh.

so, not to alarm anyone...

but when i was in tooele, some of my moles didn't look the same that they had been for as long as i could remember. so, i made an apt with my doc, i see her tomorrow. i don't htink its really anything, but with all the time i've spent outside lately and in the past (mer, remember when i was as red as a lobster?) i figured better safe than sorry. i'll let you know tomorrow the verdict.

it got so cold here, pretty fast like too. its only around 55 degrees today, yuck. so much for a nice mild fall. oh well, hopefully no snow down here in the valley before halloween.... mother nature better not let it snow....

ok, so i don't have class mon, wed or fri for the next week and a half! that means i don't have to go to school on my birthday and that also means that on columbus day, i don't work nor have class! (working for the gov't has it's perks: we get every single major holiday off, like christmas, new years, columbus day, veterian's day, president's day...) ya know, the ones that schools get off, or mail doesn't get delievered on, those days!

i got some newer pics of my nephews, but kristina sent them to walmart to be printed. so i can't show off some of the cutest boys!

so i got my first real homework the other day, its pretty difficult. geochemistry.

also, i'm not going to have to teach primary for three weeks! got conference, then two weeks to practice for the program. yea! my brain can sort of relax. blah, i should really work on the homework...

so, a dear friend of mine gave birth last night, she had a cute little girl.

now, i just gotta wait for my step-sister and sister.

time to buy baby clothes, not for me.

there's about 10 weeks til school is over! yea. now i just gotta get a "real" job.

also, me and steve finally gave in, we got Directv with Tivo. after two years of over the air, we finally get more channels!! yea, now we will have something to actually watch when the re-runs kick in again. the guy is installing it right now, and boy, that was an ordeal. they had our apartment complex on the "do not touch" list, but our landlord said it was just fine. steve got a little mad, but by tonight, we will have nice reception. just in time for the season premiers!! oh and speaking of premiers, did anyone watch cbs last night?? holy cow!!

well, i guess i should try to do something productive today. i do have to work in two hours, but that's still two hours to do something.

maybe i'll scrapbook, i got plenty of stuff now... hehehehe.....

so, my littlist sister has gotten herself pregnant. the father's family doesn't want anything to do with it, the father doesn't want it and kristina is trying to convice her not to keep it. she doesn't seem to care about anything though... i knew she was having sex, so i guess its no real surprise that she's pregnant. i wish there was some way for her to see that she's not old enough to care for another person when she can barely take care of herself. she shouldn't think that mom will help. mom's moving to another state, and will be starting another job. ugh, meg. i wish you were smarter than this. but you will have to deal with the concequences of your choice.

well, Heavenly Father is watching out for me. i've been reading this one series, and the first book was quite intresting, but then as i read into the second book, i started getting a feeling that i shouldn't be reading it. and when i closed the book, the feeling left me calm. well, guess i won't be finishing that series. that's ok, i need to work on school stuff right now anyways.

i applied to another job today. it's here in boise. oh, steve suggested that i look for jobs here in boise and in SLC. who knows, if i can find a decent job that pays at least as much as steve makes now down there, we may be moving. we will see what the future holds for me and steve.

my mom got a new job down in fl. she and dave are excited. i hope all goes well for them down there.

i need to rant, so pardon me

i apolize ahead of time if there are any words you wouldn't expect form me....

i hate the office for our apartment complex. but i guess this stems to american express first. they had the worng address to send our cards too. so they sent them via ups. we got the notice yesturday that the package was at the office. so me and steve went to get it and the first thing i was told was that they were trying to call me. i was like, "why, i've left stuff overnight before here" and all the studpid bitch could say was that she kept trying to call us, then she asked for our aptarment number again and it clicked in her small head that it wasn't my aptarment she was trying to get ahold of. then she couldn't find out package, saying that it must have not been dropped off. that ups took it back. that i was wrong. that didnt' make me very happy. so today, i called ups and they told me who signed for it, and when it was given to the office. i went this morning after the office was open, really looking forward to catching them in a lie. and the same bitch was there. saying, i tried calling you and i took the package to your apt. i told her that she did not call me and nothing was left at my apt. then she was like, well, i meant to call you and i had it under my desk and i'm sorry. yea, sorry doesn't cut it. who in the right mind would leave a package for someone other than theirself under a desk that any one has access too? then to make matters worse, she's still a bitch, but the package from american express only has one card, for steve. ugh.

yes, its true

i still like the backstreet boys. sorry, can't help it. and wow, 15 years and they still sound really good. actually better now than they use too. can't say that about the other "boy bands" that aren't singing together anymore. and it doesn't count that the new kids on the block are back, its not the same guys.

i found out something sort of frustrating about one of my classes. the teacher will cancel labs and/or classes at will. doesn't give out homework at all, and his tests are really hard. that's great. i know, i should be happy that classes get cancelled, but i'm not, cause then i could have told work i would work more hours. and the HR dept get's testy if i work more than i told them. and since its the government, its a long process to tell them otherwise. oh well.

i am looking forward to racing! yea for miller sports park!! its the sunchaser, which means almost 12 hours in one day of racing. plus, i am skipping class, it's not worth driving down to tooele just for one day. and if this same teacher cancels lab the day before we leave, we get to spend some more time down there.

oh, and i gotta post a really nice picture/poster...

i wish there was a way to vent. at least about the issue i have, but i can't. it's not right. i'm just frustrated right now. and there doesn't seem like anyone i can really talk to. i don't even feel comfortable putting the issue up here either.

i am glad for books. i read a whole series (4 books total) in four days. it was perfect. seeing a movie in my head from words.

i found some songs that i like and by using a friend's link to it.

so i finished reading the Twlight books. man are they awesome! kept me so intrigued. it was like watching a movie in my head.

i've been waiting for classes to assign homework. can you believe, nothing within the first week. this definately different than senior year in high school. homework assigned the first day.

oh, and for those of you that read this, here's what i'm thinking of doing for my announcements:

school

school has started for the last time for me. and boy, right now do the classes scare me. geochemistry and sed/strat.

well, only four more months.....

drama, drama, drama...

and no, i'm not talking about the sister kind or friend kind. it's the dad kind.

i thought that i would be nice and get dad's address to send him a graduation announcement card. well, he called me right back and asked if anything was wrong. then he got talking about how he can't trust anyone any more and asked if i knew what that was like. ummm, DUH. like i can trust him anymore. it's one sob story after another. but i'm trying to be nice, cause after all, he did help mom with making me, and my sisters. why shouldn't we get money out of him? its not like he never paid child support, oh wait, HE DIDN'T. at least not until he got social security. part of his monthly check went to me and my sisters that he cared so much for. yes, i am full of scarcasim, can't you tell? ugh, family. too bad you can't get rid of family. oh well. this helped, being able to rant to whoever reads this....

at least he doesn't know my main emails. i created one espically for him from gmail. have it forward to another one, but when i respond, its with the one he knows....

yea for money

so, we took out more than needed on the student loans, and paid off two credit cards. that's right i said two!! now we are down to 5 credit cards, but two don't count as one is for when he goes on base and the other for business expenses (it's easier to have the business stuff in one place). it feels so good!!! yea!!! can ya tell i'm just a little excited?!

i got to see mer bear, man is she looking good, at least for being on bed rest. but she's gotta take care of herself and baby.

i chated a while with barbie and mara. that was the one of the best parts of this weekend.

oh, and i hate, HATE, utah drivers. i don't know why they post signs for contsrtuction zones, no one obeys them except for a few out-of-staters. bc we know that we will get a ticket if we don't. so, if it says 65, go right on doing 80. they don't seem to care. but don't take those kinds of speeds in idaho, they'll get'cha.

weddings

so there are two weddings going on this week. one is a friend and one is a cousin. i can't go to the friend's bc i have to go to the cousin's. :-( oh well. i do get to see a friend/family (i think we're close enough to family). that's going to be awesome. i haven't seen her in a while. hubby is talking again about buying a house. we need to sit down with a loan officer.
school starts up in less than two weeks. i still need to buy my books, but that will be taken care of next week, hopefully. oh, i need to get a parking pass too. to bad they don't have more general parking lots. i'm not going to spend 150 for one semester to park in the garage. i'd rather pay 50 to park far, far away...
i'm going to be single next week as hubby goes to a class in minnesota. yea, chinese food!!! and shrimp and chinese food and did i metion chinese food??!? hubby doesn't like it very much, so the only time i get to have it is when he is out of town. there's also this really good mongolian bbq near work. man, is it good. the guys at work go every thursday there and invited me one time. now we have like 6-8 people go there. guess i should get to work....

not for a long time

i am not planning on having babies for a while.

i watched a friend's set of twins yesturday (they are 2 and not potty trained yet). so that meant that i would have to change their diapers and man did they stink. worse than any other baby's diaper that i've changed before.

looking at a computer screen for 8 hours would make you tired.
getting up and going to bed regularly would make you tired...

oh well, soon school will start and then the learning begins. hopefully...

i got a new favorite kind of candy, the three musketeer's mint!!!! it tastes better than peppermint patties. they just melt in your mouth and are smooth and i could eat the nugot part all day long! :-)

one descision made...

ok, so we are planning on staying here, for at least the next 5 years or so. and then "upgrading". that will be nice.

hopefully today, we will be going to look at a rental home in boise. we drove by it yesturday, but need to see it inside. i really like it and it's definatly a step up from the apartments we are in now. we'd have a double car garage and three bedrooms. with a fenced back yard. its a corner home, so the lot is pretty big. (there's a good size front yard and another "driveway". so we could park three cars on driveways!) wish us luck!

bikes

So the bike i had boughten from Cam has finally bit the dust. well, the back tire doesn't hold true anymore. and its either spend a couple hundred dollars fixing it or get a new one. right now, not sure about either choice. money is the issue. so, it shall sit in the garage and wait.

Yea for Mother Nature and providing us a way to get rid of the poor air quality. granted, it was nothing like it was in Logan. where the air can become worse than LA. No joke. One of the times that Logan Utah was put on the map was the winter they had the worst air quality and no one could go outside without hurting their lungs or eyes. i didn't go to class that day...

speaking of school, its starting soon! well, in a month. but that's soon! yes, i am excited for school to start as it means i am one more semester closer to graduating. actually this is the last semester!! yes, finally!!

work is keeping me busy, which is very nice. unlike last summer where i barely worked 20 hrs a week. this summer its 40 hours a week!! yea for money! ;-)

steve enjoys work most days. right now he is helping out on another line at work, as they are at least an engineer short.

language

well, posting on a friends site, i remembered something from camp.....

i know how to use "bad" language. no seriously. every day at camp was was like watching tv, but without all the beeps. somedays it would have sounded like " beep, beep beep-i-dy beep"! but then again, falling down rocks and trees and hurting your bum or legs can do that to you. trust me, i got the scars to prove it! ;-)

as right now, we are still not sure what's going to happen after i finish school. both of us would like to move back to the wasatch front, not in logan though. i think we had enough of logan from going to school there. besides there aren't any places for me to use my major, or area of intrest. ummm, oh well. it would be nice to be down there in ogden though. we would be closer to family and i could pester mer!! pester, i mean visit! ;-) we shall see what will happen.

I FINISHED!!

I survived camp. I only came out with minor scraps and bruises. I even have some bruises on my bum. that resulted in a pair of jeans and shorts being thrown out. they are beyond repair.
I got a C, but that's ok, I passed!!! yea! it was a lot of fun, but still very tiring. pictures are up at picasaweb.com/ldsstitch. there are still about 30 that i need to get up on that site, but it is a majority of the pics i took.

field camp

soo... for the last few days, i've been at camp. it is a lot of fun! peeing in the rainstorms isn't so much fun though. espically with hail falling down. i think i need to see if hubby will send me some warmer gloves. well, its been a long day and it will be a long day tomorrow.

B's everywhere

so, i got a B+ for igneous, metamorphic petrology and a B for petrography lab. there's only one class left. it's prolly an A.

its fun telling a school what needs to change, and comparing it to another school. that was my last day in senior seminar. yes, every class has evaluations, but when a senior is getting ready to graduate, at least in the geosciences, they get to tell what's good and what's not good for the whole school. BSU really needs to change somethings, like their chem dept and the math dept.

one more grade

so, i got a B- in geophsics. that's ok though. i don't do well with writing papers and that's what broght the grade down.

in one week i'll be at field camp. there's no phone service up there, so if anyone needs me, you can email.

kristina had her little boy saturday. so now that's a total of four nephews for me. two from brandy and two from kristina. barbie thinks that i should have a baby soon too, so that she can spoil him. not until i finish school. which is this year!!!

i wish i knew some different supper dishes that i could make and that steve would eat. i got a picky eater for a husband! one thing i've been craving is spiedies. actually, i've also been craving curry chicken or shirmp.

so, the writers from Two and a Half Men should stick with their show, and not CSI. BUT, CSI's writers can write for Two and a Half Men any day.

miracles happen

I pulled a B in chem. yea the class that sucked all semester. the teacher who didn't care. I got a B!!!

a month from now, i will be in the mountains with lots of other students and dealing with geology. let's hope nothing bad happens while i'm gone.

could people be any stupider?

ok, so Idaho is trying something new. giving people tickets for aggressive driving. I saw so many of those aggressive drivers this weekend alone. one was a mother with at least four kids. we were at the same rest stop and me and Steve left way before her. she not only caught up to us, she sped past us. there had to been at least three cops we passed and they did nothing.
this morning i had two different drivers on my bum. to the point that i couldn't see their headlights, except for the fact that they were blinding me.

thank goodness school is almost done. i have too weeks then it's finals week. and i only got one final and that one may be a take home. that will be very nice. epically if there are math problems on them. i just may pass chemistry, with a C but that's passing.

i haven't gotten the courage yet to see if mom wants to fly out for my graduation. and i don't know when it would be a good time. right now kristina is getting close to having her second baby, i get another nephew. yea more baby clothes to buy and they are not even for me! ;-) i think mom won't be ok for a while. it will be hard with kristina's new little one.
