Rocks
Isn't it wonderful? Also, while we were shopping, I bought some fabric to work on a geology quilt:

And then one of the gals in the Twilight Quilter's Coven sent me a yard of really pretty fabric that had all the above colors blended in it! I had sent her some crystalline fabric. As I've been cutting out blocks (6" finished) I figured that this quilt will be at least as big as the last one I did. I guess I'm into the big quilts! LOL

Nothing beats a...
I was heading to work and got rear-ended. I'm ok, just sore. And the Kia... It doesn't look like anything happened. It was stop and go traffic, so we weren't going all that fast. But still, got checked out by a doc, just in case.
Then I got TWO books in the mail. ARCs! Adversary- Thanks Kate! and Confessions of the Sullivan Sisters. When I'm done with them, both will be posted on my book blog.
Also, grams and gramps sent me the "mommy" bathing suit I bought when I went down to visit them. Never went swiming, so I'm taking it back to wally world and getting my money back.
Then Steve and I went to the fair! We got $2 bills back as change. Which we're not spending! And then had corndogs, elephant ears and cookies. The cookies were really good.

Teach a man to fish
Steve and I had a talk in church yesturday, I think it went well! Except for the fact that I talked longer than Steve. And he was all worried about me taking enough time, espically since I talk so fast.
You ever do the word count in Word? I did, I had over 2000 words for my talk! Ohh, let's do some math:
2147 words, total time of 15 mins... so...
2147 words/15 mins=x words/1 min
143 words per min!! LOL guess that's pretty fast.... Oh well, it's done for now. Hopefully for a while.
The week before was my first time teaching Relief Society (the 3rd hour of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints sunday meetings, for all the women 18 and older). It was a little itimdating, but they all participated!
I've been working on a quilt right now, though I'm not sure how it's going to look done.... I was thinking of doing it in a wall hanging, but I'm not even halfway done with the BOM (block of the month) for it. I've just added/done many blocks in different colors. Yes, it's a Twilight quilt. I showed Steve some of the blocks I've done so far and he realized I was doing a Twilight themed quilt. Oh well, it keeps me busy!

Post Falls, Idaho!
Downtown Spokane- Riverfront Park
You see those boxes near the water? We were in those! The pictures from above were taking from inside them!!! :)
And pictures from solid ground:
Then we drove around Coeur d'Alene, well actually we only drove for 3 or 4 hours and sort of around the lake there.... I'm not sure if we had more time if I would have wanted to drive all the way around the lake! You see that ridge? That was part of a road we drove on, well I drove! It was scary!!
A view from another high up road we drove on. That's the lake up in Coeur d'Alene.
And then a pretty bird we saw on our way back to the race track:

Books Obsession
Oh where oh where can that little dog be?

Last night, after Koko was fed, I let him outside like usual. Usually he'll either bark once or scratch the glass to let us know he wants in. About, oh, 30 mins later, Steve asked where the dog was....
OH CRAP!
So, he's calling out back for Koko, nothing. Then I hear his IDs clanking so I know he's somewhere. We both run and put shoes on, and I head out back. Koko is no where out back, but the side gate is open. So we both start yelling for him, and Steve hear's his IDs clanking again. Suddenly Koko emerges from the garage. Turns out we left that up. And in the heat of the evening, Koko took to refuge there, content as could be!

The Ugly Duckling
And he has sent me here,
Has given me an earthly home
With parents kind and dear.
I am a child of God,
And so my needs are great;
Help me to understand his words
Before it grows too late.
I am a child of God.
Rich blessings are in store;
If I but learn to do his will
I’ll live with him once more.
I'm a little boy with glasses
The one they call a geek
A little girl who never smiles
'Cause I have braces on my teeth
And I know how it feels to cry myself to sleep
I'm that kid on every playground
Who's always chosen last
A single teenage mother
Tryin' to overcome my past
You don't have to be my friend
But is it too much to ask
Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me
I'm the beggar on the corner
You've passed me on the street
And I wouldn't be out here beggin'
If I had enough to eat
And don't think I don't notice
That our eyes never meet
Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me
I'm fat, I'm thin, I'm short, I'm tall
I'm deaf, I'm blind, hey, aren't we all
Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

4th of July
4:15am came real early this morning. I still want to go back to bed, but time to work!
Monday, June 28, 2010
You know....
Though, last night was a really good race. There were 4 different races. The usual Hornets, anyone with a car pretty much can race and Steve always asks if he could enter the Kia in it...
Then there was the wingless sprint cars, they did 30 laps with no cautions! I didn't get to see any of it, as I went down at the end of the hornet race to get some water and ice cream. The line was so long that by the time I made it back up to my seat, they were done!
Next was the Rocky Mountain Challenge Series. I've seen them three times now, maybe more. Steve said that they used to go to Meridian all the time, and then the owners didn't want them. But a few years ago, new guys purchased the track, and so they brought them back! They put on a great show. 100 laps!
Last was the CWI late models. They are a step up from the Hornets, but a step down from the Rocky Mountain Challege series. They put on a good show too! Racing started at 6:30 for the whole track, and ended at 9:30pm! There's been times when we didn't leave the track until 11:30pm due to so many cautions or red flags. It was the ending to a great day!

My New Life
My New Life
Wow, what a weekend!
Anyways, when I got home, steve had the car mostly packed for the race, I just needed to find a blanket and my raincoat. We got to the track and it was, what I call, spitting! (really likely sprinkling). Out came the ponchos! BUT it stopped long enough for qualifing and the rest of the race. That was a good night, little crashes, so we were out of there by 9:30pm! Saturday Steve went to guard, and I cleaned house. We drove seperately to the track that night, wow, there were some pretty bad crashes (though everyone was not seriously injured). We didn't leave til 11:30pm!!
So Sunday, after Steve got home from guard, we fell asleep on the couch for a couple of hours. When we woke up, we both decided to just go to bed! LOL I'm still tired, but it was a fun weekend!!

Twilight Quilter's Coven Eclipse Quilt Give to Win

Photo courtesy of Twilight Quilters Coven, used with permission.
Besides all the amazing blocks, the quilt has 3 autographs from the saga's actors: Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen), Chaske Spencer (Sam Uley), and Daniel Cudmore (Felix)! Check out all the beautiful details.
The best part is that we're giving this quilt away! TQC members have donated time, talent and materials to create this quilt in order to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a charity close to the hearts of the Twilight Fandom You can help us out with a donation to ALSF. For every $5 increment donation you get a chance to win the quilt. Give $5, get 1 chance; give $20, get 4 chances, etc., so the more you give the more chances you get to win!. Donations will be accepted from June 4, 2010 until August 1, 2010 on the TQC blog or on the Eclipse charity Give-to-Win page. The winner will be announced on August 10, 2010.

Tuesday Confessions
2. I've boughten so many books since January, and plan on buying a few more before the year is out. I love to read.
3. I love my sisters, all of them (even the ones who have no relations to me, you know who you are)
4. I love wearing glasses, seriously. Growing up I hated them, but I love them now!
5. I can actually sew in an almost straight line. I made a quilt too! (pictures are somewhere in my April posts and on my picasa site)
6. Be Still My Soul has become my favorite hymn. In fact, I'm going to post the lyrics, so you can read them:
Be still, my soul: the Lord is on your side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
leave to your God to order and provide;
in every change God faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: your best, your heavenly friend
through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
Be still, my soul: your God will undertake
to guide the future, as in ages past.
Your hope, your confidence let nothing shake;
all now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
the Christ who ruled them while he dwelt below.
Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
when we shall be forever with the Lord,
when disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
sorrow for forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past,
all safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
7. I have a huge amount of stuff that needs to go to the DI (similar to the Salvation Army, Goodwill)
8. I'm greatful for my family, even if I don't always show it.
9. I love going to short track races, and hope someday to go to a NASCAR race!
10. And yes, I am one of those Twilight people. I've read the books, who knows how many times, seen the movies and own some of them (since all haven't been released) though I have not gone to see the movies within the first week of it being released. Didn't want to deal with all the screeming teenagers. ;)

Music
Speaking of church, we went to our new ward yesturday. Well, by searching for which ward we are in on LDS.org, it pointed us to one, and when we showed up at 9am, it wasn't the right one! It's actually at 11, but in the same building. No more nascar naps... :(

House building
Footings and foundation...
Flat work (garage and driveway)...
Framing (there's alot!)...
The garage framed out...
House-wrap...
This was one of the first issues we noticed! We drove over to check on the progress, and was excited to see the sidding going up, but it wasn't suppose to be white trim...
The inside framing, with insulation...
2 of the 4 bedrooms, looking out into the front of the house:
Livingroom/clergy room:
Looking into the family room and dinning room from the kitchen:
Kitchen:
Garage (the third stall):
Drywall is next...
Looking from the family room into the kitchen:
Looking down the hallway towards the master bedroom:
Standing in the master closet:
Standing in one of the extra bedrooms:
Looking from one of the extra bedrooms into the loft:
Garage:
The really deep closet under the stairs!
Looking from the kitchen into the family room (that opening leads to the living/clergy room): Looking into the family room from the kitchen:
The right look for the outside...
Yes, that is a red door!! It's starting to grow on me!!
The awesome rocks I get for the front!
The view from the street, obviously!!!
Grass and painted pillars. We drove by one night, and it was the dark brown, the next day it was the light body color!! I think we plan on painting it the dark brown again, it looks nicer, don't you agree?
Now for the inside work... GRANITE COUNTERTOPS!!
The "roughed-in" powder bath... All we have to add is a toliet and sink! Everything else is in there, including the toliet paper roll, mirror, lights, fan, etc!!!
So, I hope you enjoyed the walk-thru! I tried explaining some parts and such, but knowing me, there's always something I forget! Once things settle from the move, which a big thanks to my in-laws for helping out. Joan and Kevin came up to do the actual moving, and Kyle and Alex watched their dogs. So at Kyle and Alex's house, they had four dogs, and we only had to deal with one up here. That was a big help, can you imagine 6 people moving things while trying to keep 5 dogs happy? Espically with no backyard in!! Luckily it wasn't raining, so Koko only had dusty/dirty paws instead of muddy paws!
